Like many other manufacturers, Hyundai has made some functionalities available to the owners via their smartphone using the BlueLink app. The mobile app provides information about the car’s status – doors are locked or unlocked, the trunk has been left open, the car is low on gas, etc. It also tracks the vehicle should you park in a crowded lot and allows you to unlock from a distance, start the engine and run it for a set duration and set the cabin temperature.

But besides the more obvious features that have become part of the connected landscape, BlueLink also offers an added level of safety. In fact, at the touch of a button located on the frame of the rearview mirror, you can contact emergency services and roadside assistance and should you be victim of a collision, the system will automatically contact the emergency services.

Two front-wheel drive powertrains are offered in the 2018 Hyundai Sonata.
